Frequently Asked Questions

What do you do during the day and how do you find time to do all of the projects around your house?
I'm a Technical Writer by trade, meaning I document how to use software. I commute to Ann Arbor (about an hour drive) so I'm gone most of the day but I have the luxury of working from home on Mondays and Thursdays. Most of my projects are done on the weekend or in the evening, depending on how large the project is. I've found that doing them by myself definitely takes more time but that's the life of an unmarried woman, right?!?

When do you find time to post?
The secret is that I usually write posts during my lunch break or at night and then set the posts up to automatically publish at certain times. Shh...don't tell anyone else!

Can I find a list of things in your home?
Absolutely! I have a Source List link at the top of the blog under my title. Take a look!

What are your favorite stores to shop at?
I love finding new stores or finding deals online but my favorite stores would have to be Pier 1, TJMaxx, HomeGoods, Marshalls, Target, ZGallerie, Anthropologie, and IKEA. I'm a bargain hunter so the ones I frequent the most would be Target, HomeGoods, TJMaxx and Marshalls.

Do you have pictures of your entire house? Will you be setting up a house tour?
Today is your lucky day! I've recently updated my format - I changed it from three columns to two and added a new navigation bar at the top that contains links to pictures of my house on the day I got the keys and links to posts that show how my house looks now. The "House:Now" section will be changing as I post the House Tours.

  1. Holy cow girl... how do you get different pages with Blogger? I've been trying to figure out how to add tabs at the top for awhile now! Any info would be greatly appreciated since apparently I'm blogger dumb :)

  3. Thanks, guys! I know HTML pretty well but I still had to get outside help on my template. :) I referred to the instructions at http://tips-for-new-bloggers.blogspot.com/2007/08/horizontal-menu-navigation-bar.html. My header has a graphic instead of the H1 and description so it popped the links underneath the graphic. Before you change your template make sure you save a backup in case you totally mess things up (not that you would but it could happen!). Also, I linked to labels vs. individual pages for most of my links but you can link to outside websites, an individual page or labels (the individual pages just have to already exist on your site!). If you try this and still have problems, email me and I'll see what I can do!
