Basement Remodel: Part 3

Are you sick of the basement yet?  You read about the new floor plan, the insulation, and the metal framing we used to frame out the walls.  Now the fun starts!  Dry wall was again hung while I was at work.  Even without the tape and mud it already seemed like an actual room and I *loved* it!  Let’s get to the pictures!

Before tape:

After tape:

Some mud:

He taped the room and then worked on the bathroom for a day.  The next day he went back and mudded the room and again switched to working on the bathroom.  He then sanded the walls and applied a second coat of mud that he then had to come back and sand later to ensure everything was nice and smooth.  This was a multi-day process but well worth it.

Next up – paint and trim!

  1. Are you talking about working on the basement bathroom? Looking forward to seeing that too!

  2. Nope! I only had enough $$ for the upstairs bathroom and the basement living space at this time. I still hope to have a bathroom put in down there at some point but right now it had to be left out.
